Real life. Real resilience. Real conversations.

I’m Karen Doherty Cooke, a keynote speaker, resilience and life coach, workplace wellbeing facilitator and experienced business professional.

My work is built around one central belief:

Resilience should not require you to abandon yourself.

I know what it means to carry responsibility, perform under pressure and keep going when life changes in ways you never expected.

My own story includes profound loss, solo parenting, rebuilding and learning how to move forward while creating a life that still felt like mine.

Those experiences changed my understanding of resilience.

I stopped seeing resilience simply as the ability to endure and began understanding it as the ability to recognise what is happening within us, respond consciously and return to ourselves.

Alongside my lived experience, I bring more than 20 years of professional experience in payroll management, finance and business operations.

I understand the operational realities organisations face: deadlines, compliance, performance, responsibility and constant demands.

And I understand the human beings carrying them.

Today, I bring those two worlds together through speaking, coaching, workplace wellbeing and professional education.

There is humour in my work because there is humour in real life. There is honesty because meaningful conversations require it. And there are practical tools because inspiration matters most when people can take something useful back into their everyday lives.

My goal is not to tell people to become stronger.

It is to help them recognise the strength they already have—and use it without losing themselves along the way.
